Another great weekend in the books, guys. People say Chicago summers are the best thing ever, and with only a couple of weeks under my belt, I must say that I agree! I think I’m in for a whirlwind for these next two months!
My girlfriends from college were in town during the week, and we hit up a few great spots in Lincoln Park and along the river (which is my favorite), and it was wonderful seeing them again! On Friday, I hit up the happy hour at LuxBar and needless to say I downed more than enough of their $5 glasses of wine LOL. They also have a gorgeous patio which is a must-see! Then on Saturday a couple of my friends and I got drinks at Howells & Hood (totally recommend the Mayan Mule, which is made with tequila!), and then headed over to the Chicago Blues Festival in Millennium Park! Loved the Blues Festival, but also wish I had tried the Old Town Arts Festival and the Rib Fest. Did any of you?
It was nearly 95 degrees the past two days and I’ve mentioned it before, but during the warmer seasons I’m immediately drawn to cute sundresses that can easily be thrown on, but still make you look put together. Enter this pretty sundress from Tobi that I’ll be wearing all summer long! I love the baby doll style of this dress, as well as how flowy it is – but my favorite part is the cute little cutouts at the top! I love pieces that can be worn out to dinner, for running errands around town or for a stroll along the lake. The good news is that it’s currently on sale & comes in a pretty mint color and black!
I also mentioned in this post that Tobi has been a longtime love of mine (since my freshman year of college, to be exact), and I love how they have such a versatile selection for extremely affordable prices! Ballin’ on a budget, remember?
I picked up these Steve Madden Jaylen wedges a while back, and they’re so awesome! I’m sure you guys have seen the Marc Fisher version, but these look exactly the same for $100 cheaper. They’re super easy to walk in, and my feet don’t hurt after an extended period of time like most of my other shoes. No brainer, right?!
Thank you to Tobi for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own.Photos by Julie Kennedy
