How to Stay Motivated

I know. Where in the world have I been the past three weeks?! And honestly, a little bit of everywhere! This little mini hiatus that I took was completely unintentional, but I soon found myself extremely unmotivated to keep coming back to my little part of the Internet. I’m not really sure of the reasons – but I just knew that I needed. a. break.

The good news is that I think I’m finally out of my rut and we should be back to our regularly scheduled programming on Monday! With that said, I thought I’d share how to stay motivated with some of my favorite tips!

Just Get Started

If I’m being honest, I actually wasn’t even going to write this post because I had no idea what I wanted to say or talk about, but this idea came about because I finally just opened my computer and started drafting my post. I truly believe that this is a great way to overcome any hurdle (whether that be at work, at home, etc.), and once you start, it’s not as bad as you had previously thought. I even find myself doing this at work – especially if there’s something I’ve been dreading. Overcoming that initial hurdle of just beginning is the probably the most daunting part, but once you get in the flow, you’re all set.

Look to Others for Inspiration

Throughout my brief break, I would still visit other bloggers’ sites and feel a bit envious that they were still posting and I wasn’t. Because I was the only one preventing myself from blogging, it made it even more difficult to see my engagement drop on my blog and on my social media channels. However, sometimes looking to others is all of the motivation that you need. Watching people have a great time at Fashion Week, or posting super thoughtful content has definitely helped push me back into it. If someone is excelling at work, I’m sure you’d like to do the exact same thing!

Focus on the Future

Eventually I would love for this to become something bigger, and the only way for that to happen is to put in the hard work and hours… and that can be said for just about anything that we’d all like to accomplish in life. Having end goals and thinking about the bigger picture is one of the main things that keeps me motivated! If I don’t reach a goal or accomplish something that I’d like, it’s only because I was unable to overcome my lack of motivation and I can only blame myself!

Welcome back!! I’ve been terrible at blogging as well – it’s just so hard to be motivated sometimes especially when we have full-time jobs too. Anyways, I’m glad you’re back and looking great! Those mules are really cute!

My biggest struggle is always just starting! Once I get into a routine I’m fine, but it’s that first step that is always so hard.
