Oway Organics Purifying Hair System

Sometime last summer I conducted a reader survey to gain some perspective on if you guys liked the current direction of the blog, and whether there were other subjects I should talk about. To my surprise, most of the suggestions were to talk more about beauty and skincare products! Well, in true Lauren fashion here I am – six months later – officially introducing beauty content onto the blog!

A few months ago I attended a Bloguettes conference, and I sat next to someone named Kyme Dang. After chatting for a bit, she introduced me to the haircare line, Oway Organics. I’ve been trying to invest more time into taking care of myself, so when I got home and researched the products, I became obsessed! I’ve been steering clear of sulfates and other harmful chemicals for a while now, so I knew I just had to try this! In fact – as you can see – all of the ingredients are boldly on the front… nothing is hidden and there are no secret agendas.

Oway Organics has multiple systems depending on your type of hair and what you need the most, so I’ve been testing out the moisturizing system – because my hair gets super dry – and the purifying system in order to keep my scalp nice and clean! Today, we’re focusing on the purifying system. If you suffer from a dry and sensitive scalp,  then this is perfect for you!The pure biodynamic thyme and the purifying rice wax work together. You mix the two ingredients together (about two tablespoons), apply it all over your scalp and let sit for around 10 minutes. The best part is the tingling sensation that you begin to feel after only a few minutes. It reminds me somewhat of the peppermint shampoo that salons use which makes your scalp feel as if it’s breathing or something! The final product is the purifying hair bath (anyone else love that it’s not just regular ‘ol shampoo?) and you use this after you’ve done the scalp treatment. The hair bath is the final step in cleansing and rinsing your scalp from all of the impurities. When you’re done, your scalp will feel so fresh as if it’s brand new!

What I most love about the Oway Organics products is that it doesn’t make my hair feel as if it’s being stripped. I’ve tried a lot of different haircare lines and some of them make my hair feel dry and weak, but that isn’t the case here!

If you’d like to try the Oway Organics line yourself, the products are currently 15% off until February 6th (free shipping site wide – no code necessary!)

I’ll be checking back in a few weeks with the moisturizing system, but for now you can learn more about and shop the purifying system below!
