Not only has the summer been racing by, but it’s been unseasonably chilly here in Cleveland. Last summer just the thought of leggings and jeans would probably be enough to send me into a heat stroke, but this year the temperatures have warranted covering up!
Now, I have to admit, I’m one of those people who is always hot – no matter how cool it is – so although I’ve been keeping warm on the bottom, I’ve been trying to stay cool on top. Enter pretty, patterned, flowy tops. I’ve actually had this one for quite some time. My friend visited me at school two years ago, and she purchased this top at a boutique in the area. Naturally, I had to have it, too. I mean, can you blame me? I think it’s so pretty!
The fabric is lightweight and breezy, which keeps me from overheating even when it’s only 70 degrees. In fact, I love it so much that I’ve actually worn this outfit too many times to count when going out at school! It gets super stuffy at the bars with all of those people, so like I said – I need to stay cool (and cute) somehow!
I usually stick to the top and jeans, but start to switch it up when it comes to the shoes. I’ve paired it with ankle boots, brown strappy sandals, gladiators, and everything in between! This time I opted for my go-to black heels (which were being fixed for weeks!!), and of course my favorite blue tote (which you’re probably sick of… and maybe I am, too?).
If you couldn’t tell from my last few posts… I’m all about throwing on easy and versatile pieces! P.S. – Basically this entire outfit is formed with items that I’ve had for quite some time – which proves that there’s nothing better than shopping your own closet! 🙂 Don’t you agree?!
Jeans: Gap // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff // Heels: Zara (old, similar)
This top is so fun, you styled it perfectly here ! 🙂

Exactly! Nothing worse than buying something and only wearing it a few times!
Actually you are so right!! I’ve found a number of items I forgot I had including shoes I hadn’t worn last summer. I did not need to buy anything new really. Shop your closet!!!
So true! Except I still love the thrill of a new purchase 😉
