You guys, I’ve decided to try something new – something that I’ve been thinking about for a while now.Whenever I begin to write my little spiel towards the end of my blog post’s, I always notice that I never really know what to say. Everything I write seems to be pretty much the same, and extremely generic… and to be honest, I find it utterly boring.
I often want to tell more stories behind the pieces that I buy, the way that I feel when wearing them, or just what’s going on with me that day, but sometimes it just seems that I’m trying to write… “fashiony.” And that’s definitely not my thing.Hallie of Corals and Cognacs is one of my favorite bloggers, and what draws me to her blog everyday is the fact that she pays great detail to her writing, and connects with her readers through stories. I’ve always admired her style of writing and blog posts, and decided that maybe this is something I could try; maybe this was my style, too.
I read at least 30+ blogs, and some of the most common advice offered is to find what you like, and what fits for you – all while remaining authentic. So when I read over the little blurbs at the end of my blog posts, I realize that it’s not me at all.
Even further, I’m majoring in Journalism – which means I write a lot. Now, I’m sure you’re thinking, “Aren’t you tired of writing?” And the answer is absolutely! But not about things I truly find interesting or things that I’m passionate about (that’s the point of this blog, after all). So, I’ve decided to give it a try. If it works, awesome! If it doesn’t, then I’ll keep trying to find what works for me best. But for now, I’m excited for new beginnings!
What have you guys been hoping to accomplish lately? Please share!
