Spring in my Step

Yesterday marked the first day of Spring and this photo exemplifies just how excited I am! Spring is not only one of my favorite seasons because of my birthday (!!) but because the flowers are just starting to bloom, there’s much more sunlight, and everyone just seems to be in a better mood – me included!Another bonus is a new (and brighter) spring wardrobe! We’re all transitioning from our dark and neutral colored pieces, to items that are a fresh pop of color!

I’ve had this Rebecca Minkoff tote for some time, but I love pulling it out of storage as the season starts to change. It’s seriously been the perfect accessory. These Schutz sandals are also going to be a staple over the next few months (last seen here). Cognac is such an amazing color, plus they’re super comfortable and easy to walk in!Another essential component of an excellent spring wardrobe is the perfect striped shirt. I snagged mine from J.Crew a few months back, and it has the cutest gold buttons on the shoulders!

I also must have a light cardigan that can be thrown over anything – as spring temperatures tend to fluctuate. You can’t really tell, but this one from Banana Republic has black zipper detailing on the sides, and allows for some versatility depending upon the weather. I’ve been constantly reaching for it these past few days!On a side note – I didn’t notice how Fourth of July these photos seem! There’s so much red, white, and blue LOL. Oh well – I loved the outfit and thought the red backdrop would be so perfect for the post! What do you think?
