I’m back with this month’s book club reading list (even though we’re nearly halfway through LOL… can you even believe that?!) and it’s a good one! While I slowed down on the amount of books I finished last month, I’m hoping to prioritize better and finish those, as well as these new additions! So, let’s get to it!
The Zookeeper’s Wife – Okay, I’m sure we’ve all seen the preview of the movie by now – but I always have to read the book first (partly because it’s usually ten times better)! This true story is about polish zookeepers who protect more than 300 people from Nazis by concealing them in animal cages. This dramatic story is supposed to pull you in from the beginning, and it’s at the top of my list!
Bittersweet – I just picked up this book from the sale table at Barnes and Noble (they always have such great picks!) and am going to read it after finishing Big Little Lies. It showcases the decadent lives of the elite at a prestigious university and one girl who particularly yearns to belong. And while they may accept her at first, she soon learns that she will never be one of them. This is so appealing to me because while I didn’t experience this, it still brings me back to my preparatory school days!
The Woman in Cabin 10 – If you’re into the Gone Girl’s and Girl on the Train’s type of books, then this one is for you! A travel reporter is gifted with an exclusive stay on a cruise ship as part of her assignment and while everything seems to be smooth sailing, she witnesses someone being thrown overboard. However, the cruise ship says everyone is accounted for and thus continues on the trip. This thriller has loads of twists and will keep you on your toes!
As always, if you have any other suggestions – please sound off in the comments below, as I love hearing new recommendations!
Such great suggestions! I had mixed feelings on Bittersweet but Woman in Cabin 10 I’ve been raving about to everyone. Are you on goodreads? I’d love to get more suggestions from a fellow reader!
Thanks so much, Charlotte! And I’m glad you shared that with me… when I finish I’ll have to let you know what I think! And no I’m not yet, but I think that’s an excellent idea! Are you??
Thank you for your recommendations, I have so many school work it is kinda hard for me to read but I will try this summer!

I totally understand, Camila! I work and am in school, too – and I often find myself just skipping out on my reading! But I definitely need to prioritize better!
Ah I need to read the Zookeeper’s Wife! That movie looks very intense and good.

Doesn’t it?! Couldn’t agree more! I just have to read books before seeing the movie, though!
I love Bittersweet!
