Happy 2017, ya’ll!? This time last year I was anticipating the best year of my life – and on the outside it may seem as if that were true. I mean, I traveled to Cuba, I graduated from college, moved to the amazing city of Chicago, started my career in PR, began my first semester of graduate school and made awesome new friends! Sounds like a stellar year, right? Well, not so much. There were some other things that happened that really prevented me from fully enjoying all of these great accomplishments and kind of put a damper on most of the year. No matter how great – nothing really made me feel genuinely happy.
Now, I’ve never been super into New Years resolutions (although I did write a blogging resolutions post once – so funny to read old posts!!) because I think you start off strong for a few weeks, and then everything falls by the wayside. However, there are some bad habits I’d like to kick in this new year, and some good habits I’d like to pick up! The one thing that I really want and am going to try my hardest to achieve is to have genuine happiness again. Your happiness impacts every single part of your life, and it’s so draining putting on a facade all the time – so I know that I can do it!
Anyways, onto the outfit! I picked up this gorgeous Banana Republic Pleated Wrap dress a few weeks back and knew it would be the perfect party dress! I wore it to a Christmas party, and thought it would be perfect for New Years. Let me tell you – big hit! What’s great about this pleated wrap dress is that it can be worn all year long! During the winter, style it with your favorite pair of heeled boots (which I did for the Christmas party) and during the summer – pull out your favorite strappy sandals! I also love that it’s not a typical wrap dress and has the gorgeous pleats for that little extra bit of flare!
In order to be more jazzy for New Years, I opted for a pair of silver pointed heels. I’ve had this pair for a while, and knew they would be perfect for the occasion!
Well, cheers to a fabulous 2017 for all of us! ?

The dress is stunning on you! Navy is so hard to find. At least for me lol. I am always impressed with the creativity of your posts as well. “It’s a wrap” is so creative in the meaning with the description of the dress and the end of 2016. The honesty is your post is refreshing as well; and so encouraging for us all in New Year!! Thank you.
Thank you, mom haha! And yes – definitely ready for a great start to the New Year! 🙂
