You know how back in June and July when everyone was complaining about how cool the temperature was and that it wasn’t warm enough for summer (me included)? Well those days appear to be long gone, because all of a sudden it is HOT. In order to cope and keep cool, the best thing to do is to take away clothing and put on the lightest and breeziest things I have in my closet. AKA this striped dress. Now, I’m sure you’re wondering why I threw a jacket on top if it’s so hot – and that’s a reasonable question. The simple answer is that this dress is a bit short in the front, and I felt going sleeveless would be a bit much LOL. (There’s some really bad windblown outtakes!)With school quickly approaching, I’ve been running around trying to complete all of my back to school shopping, and as soon as I spotted this striped dress I knew it would be an essential item in my closet. I love that it can be worn with simple accessories, but when fall approaches, I know that it’ll be an easy transition piece. How cute with brown ankle booties?!I posted these pretty, jeweled sandals on my Instagram a few weeks back and have been wearing them non-stop ever since. I was a bit hesitant at first because I didn’t know if I could pull them off, but finally took the plunge. I’ve seen them everywhere, and honestly it’s for good reason! I purchased mine for $9 – which is already an amazing deal – but I’ve heard some people bought theirs for $5!Funny story: I was walking down some pretty serious steps during this shoot and felt myself gripping on for dear life to the soles… praying that I wouldn’t fall, because I’m pretty sure this is my first pair of slides! If you don’t know, I’m extremely clumsy and have actually broken the same ankle three times. BUT, those are stories for another day. ANYWAYS….
Rounding out the entire look is this amazing Old Navy jacket that I wear with everything, and my new favorite cross body! It comes in so many great colors for fall, but I love that this one is so versatile! Hopefully I don’t wear it out 😉
