My 2022 Travel Bucket List

The last time I made a travel bucket list was in 2019, and we all know what happened after that! I’m hoping that I’m not jinxing myself by writing this post, so fingers crossed! The good news is that I think travel is finally back. After it all came to a halt in 2020, I was thrilled for an uptick in 2021. Last year I visited Martha’s Vineyard, Michigan, Chicago, Atlanta, New York City and Cancun. And I’m hoping this year will be no different. There’s some domestic trips I’m hoping to take, but my biggest goal is to hopefully get back across the pond! So, let’s dive in.

WHAT I HAVE PLANNED

MARTHA’S VINEYARD

Surprise! But is it really? If you’ve been following along, then you know my family and I love Martha’s Vineyard and have taken a couple of trips within the past year-and-a-half. Well, we love it so much that we’re heading back in May! It really is the perfect escape from all the stress and busyness that consumes us on the daily. It’s nice to walk on the beach, drink coffee on the porch, try fun new restaurants, and just be at peace. We’ll be staying in Oak Bluffs again (you can read my travel guide here), and I’m literally counting down the months until we arrive!

NEW YORK CITY

My mom and I take a girl’s trip to NYC every year for the U.S. Open, and it’s always one of the highlights of my year! We’re heading back again this year, and I cannot wait. We usually stay a full 3 days, but I think this year we’ll up it to 4. It’s always fun exploring new places, and visiting some of my old favorites (which I talk about in my Weekend in NYC Travel Guide)! We’re big tennis fans, and last year we went to the Open for two days! One tip, though, is do not be fooled by buying your tickets really early. TOTAL scam and you can definitely get them much cheaper once the dates get closer.

LAS VEGAS

I’ve only been to Las Vegas one time and it was when I was in seventh grade with my parents LOL. Needless to say, the experience is much different when you’re older. The reason for this trip is that John Legend announced his new residency there, and I’m obsessed with him! I’ve been wanting to see him for the longest, so I’m going for my birthday at the beginning of May!

WHERE I WANT TO GO

EUROPE

The last time I was in Europe was in February 2020, right before you know what happened. In fact, we were at The Louvre on Friday and on Sunday it shut down… talk about a close call LOL. I’ve been wanting to get back there since then, so am really hoping we can make it happen this year!

We’re thinking of doing a longer trip to hit Italy, Amsterdam, and Paris. I’ve been to Italy and Paris, but our Amsterdam trip also got canceled for May 2020 – so fingers crossed!

FYI: You can check out some of my Europe posts here:

AN ISLAND/BEACH

Which island, you ask? Who knows – I’ll take whichever! My dad is mostly fond of beach vacations over other types, so we’re hoping to get one of these in so he can have some fun, too! We went to Mexico last October and had a blast, but we’re hoping to venture somewhere else this time around. We’ve talked about the Virgin Islands, Belize, or maybe Costa Rica… so we’ll see where we land.

CHARLESTON

I’ve been trying to get to Charleston for the past two years. Last year I was going to work remotely from there, but COVID issues prevented that from happening. Luckily, we were invited to a wedding down there – so I’m hoping it’ll finally happen! I’d love to head down a few days early to sight see and have fun, but if not – maybe I can make a separate trip on my own!
