How to Transition Your Wardrobe

With fall officially upon us, I feel like I’m the only one who was sad to see summer go (but I guess the warm temperatures decided to stick around because it’s been 90!). I’ve seen bloggers in thick-knit sweaters, over the knee boots and blanket scarves… and it’s not even October yet! Ya’ll know you’re hot.

It was such a fun summer in Chicago, and part of me wants to keeping holding on to that, because as soon as those cold temperatures arrive – I’ll probably be indoors way more than I’d like. I’m also not in a rush to embrace fall just yet because although this seasons clothing is the bomb, I’ve absolutely loved summer fashion this year! So, in order to cope – I’ve been investing in transition pieces: pieces that are cool enough for me to not overheat, but also pieces that can be layered for when it gets chilly.

This tie-neck blouse from LOFT (available in all sizes & on MAJOR sale) is the perfect transition piece! I’ve worn it out with friends for drinks, but it was also great for a work event I had recently. If you think you’ll be too cold – I’ve been throwing on my favorite denim jacket over it, and it’s totally perfect.

I also love that it can easily be dressed up or down, and be worn in so many different ways. I paired it with all denim here (Canadian tuxedo, anyone?), but how cute would this tie-neck blouse be with a black skirt and black blazer?! I think I’ve found my next outfit! I also think these suede lace-up heels are such a staple that every girl needs. I bought them at the beginning of summer, and have gotten so much wear out of them. I’m not planning on stopping anytime soon, and the best part is that they’re on major sale right now!

What transition pieces have you guys been buying lately?!
