4 Things You Didn’t Know About Me

Happy Monday, ya’ll! Hope you had a great Halloween! This year I didn’t really do anything too crazy and it was a definitely a step up from last year’s, which I will just say is a vague memory and ended before midnight LOL!

Anyways, I thought I’d do something different today and share a few things about me. I feel like I never really dive into who I am outside of this blog (aside from this post about my one year anniversary in Chicago), so below you’ll find 4 facts about me! You don’t realize how hard it is to write about yourself until it’s time to get started, so that’s why there’s 4 facts instead of 5 LOL! Let’s dive in.

1.  I Secretly Want To Be a Chef

I don’t know how I really got into cooking, but during my junior year of college we were finally able to live in apartments, so I couldn’t rely on meal plan anymore and actually had to eat real food. My friend and I tried to make stuffed meatballs, but it definitely was not a crowd favorite haha! I’m happy to say that over the years I’ve honed my skills and made some pretty delicious meals. One of my favorites is a shrimp and rice dish I make with wine, and I’ve also perfected grilled salmon… it’s so delicious! I don’t rely on too many cookbooks, but I received Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings Cookbook as a gift one year, and am obsessed. There’s so many great recipes which are fairly easy to make for those of who you aren’t big into cooking.

2. I’m Obsessed with Tennis

When I say obsessed, I’m not exaggerating. Throughout high school and the first couple of years I would stay up until 3am to watch the Australian Open and wake up at 6am to watch the French Open and Wimbledon. I could also tell you the top 30 players for women and men. It was crazy haha! I’m not as bad I used to be since a few of my favorite players have retired/been injured, but still keep it up with it very regularly. I was also the captain of the JV tennis team in high school (as a senior! LOL), but what’s really cool is that one of my best friends is a pro player and has been ranked as high as 25 in the world!

3. I Love to Travel

I haven’t been to nearly as many places as I’d like to by now, but have still been to some pretty awesome countries so far! One of my absolute favorites is Cuba (you can see some photos from my trip here). It seriously has such a special place in my heart, and is the most beautiful place I’ve been to! I say it’s more beautiful than other islands and countries I’ve been to because of the history and culture that’s still present. How many places in the world still operate the same way they did 30-40 years ago? Basically no where! Now, there’s obviously immense poverty there, which breaks my heart – but it’s such a diverse island and all of the different towns and cities are so different from one another!

Some other places on my wish list are Croatia, Thailand, Argentina and of course, Europe!

4. I’m a Serious Country Fan!

Surprising? You wouldn’t be the first! I remember one time I was riding down the street with my windows down, blasting Kenny Chesney, and a woman pulled up and goes, “Oh hell no!” It was super funny, but I just can’t help it! My favorites are Kenny Chesney (seen him 3 times), Tim McGraw (2 times) and Blake Shelton (1 time). I’ve seen lots of other country artists, but the one concert I was upset I missed out on was Jason Aldean! He’s another favorite of mine, so I’m patiently waiting for his next show. Some of the newer guys like Dustin Lynch are also on my list.

Welp, that’s it for now! Did anything surprise you?
